Consultations & requests
Advisory sessions from first enquiry to written opinion, including the requests clients send from their portal.
A consultation is the work that does not warrant opening a matter: an hour of advice, a second opinion, a question from a client the firm already acts for. Treating it as a first-class record means it can be billed, assigned, reported on and answered for, rather than disappearing into somebody's diary.
Requests are the front of the same pipeline. When a client asks for a consultation from their portal, the request arrives inside the product as something to triage, not as an email that somebody has to remember to act on.
Intake
- Consultation requests from the client portal, with their own status track through triage
- Conversion into a scheduled consultation without re-keying the enquirer's details
- Requests that go nowhere stay on the record, so the firm can see what it is turning away
The session
- Consultation types and statuses, from scheduled through completed to follow-up required
- Several staff assigned, each with a role on the session
- Notes and uploaded opinions attached to the consultation, and shared to the client portal when the firm chooses
